ADULT FAITH

Adult Bible Study

Would you like to know more about the Word?  Would you like to understand Scripture more fully?  If so, our adult bible study classes may be just what you’re looking for.  We offer bible study three times a week to study a particular section of the bible.  Currently, the classes are held:  Mondays 6:00 to 7:00 a.m., Tuesdays 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Wednesdays 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.  You may attend any of the sessions.  If you would like an afternoon class, please let us know.  We will schedule these studies to fit the schedules of the majority of our parishioners.  We always welcome new faces.

Retreats

Come away and rest awhile.  God calls each of us to do just that.  He invites us to take a Spiritual vacation where you can truly find rest in Him.  Our parish has both Men’s (January) and Ladies’ (October) retreats held at the King’s House in Belleville, Illinois.  There are several opportunities throughout the weekend for quiet reflection and meditation, a celebration of the Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation is also available.

Light of the World

Come join us!  Help us bring the light of the Gospel alive within our Parish.  The Light of the World is a parish retreat held on two weekends each year, in the spring and fall.  The retreat is given by parishioners for parishioners.  The retreat is a living encounter with Christ through the Kerygma and the renewal of our Sacraments of Initiation.  The retreat creates, small faith sharing communities for parish growth and support as well as outreach to others to show God’s love.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

This ministry is designed to facilitate the efforts of the parish community to evangelize and support adults who inquire about the Catholic faith.  Adult inquirers may come at any time and with all types of faith histories.  At present, the activities of this ministry begin in September and end at Pentecost.

The RCIA team relies on the services of many parish members.  Parishioners are invited to serve in one of the following ways:  Catechist, Contact, Initiation Sponsor, Prayer Guardian or Witness.
